One of the main challenges was modernizing the interface without alienating long-time users who were familiar with the older layout. The platform had grown in features over time, but the user experience hadn’t kept up resulting in a cluttered, hard-to-navigate UI that made it difficult to find key tools like portfolio tracking or market research.
Another challenge was improving the mobile experience. Core flows like buying and selling stocks, tracking holdings, and accessing reports were not optimized for smaller screens, leading to usability issues and drop-offs, especially from first-time users coming in via mobile.
I worked closely with the product and development teams on the redesign of the core investment flows, with a focus on improving clarity, visual hierarchy, and reducing the steps needed to complete common actions. Together, we brought key metrics to the forefront, introduced guidance for new investors, and made switching between products more seamless.
On mobile, I contributed to creating a more focused layout with gesture-based navigation and contextual menus. These improvements helped users take faster actions, increased engagement time, and made Stoxbox feel more competitive with other modern investment platforms in the market.
Next projects.
